Recent events in Sweden

Last week, Sweden announced it would like to remove the ban on neuclear power in its country.
6 hours after the announcement the Swedish goverenment voted in favor of the notion. This is huge for Sweden, because untill now all of their power came from hydroelectricity.

  1. A new power source is always good, but will nuclear power cause more polution. If I'm correct, hydroelectricity is a fairly clean source of energy.

  2. Perfect another country adding on to our polution problems... Maybe its the world that should switch to hydroelectricity?

  3. This is a major step backward for Sweden and the world in general. Sweden is one of the world leaders in clean energy. Isn't hydroelectricity enough? What kind of message does this send to other countries, such as the United States, as they lag behind in the global climate change problem? Lifting this ban will make lessen the credibility of Sweden in enviromental issues.
