A 57 year old woman from Detroit witnessed a group of men breaking into her neighbors house, as soon as the men spotted her they turned and one of them fired a shot at her, a police spokesmen Phillip cook had said. The bullet struck the underwire on the womans bra and it saved her from a more serious injury. "It did slow the bullet down." Phillip Cook commented. She was still injured but they're not life threatening. The woman was then treated at a nearby hospital while the men who had shot her drove away... :/ no bueno.

Russia a No Show?

Russia threatened to not go to the meeting of senior military people from NATO. Since we all know that Russia is the world's leading consumer of heroin, could this be a coincidence?

According to Rueters, "Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned NATO already that the exercises could hinder efforts to unfreeze the alliance's relations with Moscow, suspended after the Georgia war."

It's being held in Georgia, a now-sovereign territory that had a war with Russia.

It's not very mature to not go somewhere just because someone you don't like is there.

Japan Pledges 1 Billion Dollars to Aid Pakistan

Prime Minister Taro Aso made the announcement on April 17, 2009 that Japan would pledge up to a billion dollars of aid after talks with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari. The two met ahead of international meetings in Tokyo on Friday that will include the United States, China, and the European Union, as well as other donors.

In return it is expected to give assurances it is committed to economic reform and to fighing a rising Islamist insurgency.

Japan meanwhile is hoping hosting the conference will help increase its international clout. The world's second biggest economy has long punched beneath its weight because its post-war pacifist constitution makes it reluctant to send troop abroad.

The Switch from Cars to Motorcycles

On average motorcycles get from a range of 30-120 MPG, much better than any car in the market today. That right there should be insentive enough to switch and in these new problems we face. Even 30 MPG sounds better than a 20 MPG car. Though you do need to buy extra safety equipment and participate in safety coarses, there is nothing like riding a motorized vehicle in the open air. No need to worry about A/C. With the speed your going and the leather equipment, you will not only be comfortable in all temperatures, but also look good while riding. Even the amount of space needed to park the motorcycle is half of a compact car! Overall you have to do more work than buying a car, but in the long run you'll be an eco friendly driver.

America's stand-point on drugs.

In America, we have some severe drug laws, though we let some drugs be medically regulated. Marijuana is given out for something as minor as migraines. Therefore certain narcottics are easier to get ahold of than others, but they are all out there, and we should look around carefully. Our own media condones drug abuse more then condemning it. How does it all start? Emotional masochism. When people feel bad on a psychological level, they turn to the first thing that makes them feel better, or less pained by the situation in which they attempt to escape. some of it comes from feeling the need to excel, and then failing; some times it may be from the death of someone extremely close; or sometimes it may be from just having a bad enough day that you feel so wound up that you need to relax. no matter what the reason our society chooses to turn to drugs, one truth remains; if the time comes down to it, they will return to the substance that let to them having a slightly "easier" time dealing with struggles in the past. We have a part in our brain called the limbic system, and through that, our emotions are regulated. When you taste a new kind of ice cream, the limbic system gives you a feeling that makes you eventually want it again. Think of it as one basketball, one hoop. Now, on drugs, those pleasure receptors start flooding with neurotransmitters called dopamine. If you want to immagine your brain on that amount, just think of thirty basketballs going through that one hoop simultaneously. Eventually, you run out of balls, right? Well, your brain stops making dopamine, because it figures that it's going to be put there for you. Thus, you return to the drug, finding that you can feel some form of artificial pleasure from it, and addiction is born!

Egypts thoughts on the N.Korea missile launch

When it comes to North Korea, Egypt has nothing to complain about. They have been a regular client for buying missiles from North Korea, along with; Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Libya, and Yemen. They don't seem to care what they do, just as long as they get more and better missiles and that North Korea doesn't get attacked.

DPR of Korea (North Korea)

At 11:20 a.m. the satellite Kwangmyongsong-2, a shining product of self-reliance, soared into space by carrier rocket Unha-2. It was smoothly and accurately put into its orbit 9 minutes and 2 seconds after being completely separated from the carrier rocket.
This is simply an experimental communications satellite. We have every right as a country to use the space provided above us. The scientists and technicians who have contributed to the satellite launch were thanked and had their picture taken with Kim Jong Il. This was a great day for North Korea!

Spain and the North Korean Launch

Spain is condemning the launch of a rocket by N. Korea. It will seriously weaken the stability and security of the region they said. They should cease all the work they are doing and stop any future rocket launches. Spain is in contact with the European Union and NATO to see what they will do now that North Korea has launched this rocket.

Russia warns North Korean Partner

North Korean tension tightens in north east asia with the satellite issue. As Korea is preparing the launch Russia, partners with Norea Korea, pleade with Korea to not launch satellite. Russia's deputy foreign minister Alexei Borodavkin says "N. Korean partners should resist the temptation to launch the satellite because of the risk of other countries raging out."

French Thoughts on NK Rocket Luanch

France has banned North Korea's Rocket Luanch. President Nicolas Sarkozy has said "the international community must now decide on sanctions against Pyongyang." meaning there just gonna play avoid the issue till the last moment. A game injoyed by all government officials and most highschool students. I quess we'll see what happens but the last time I remeber a dictatorship being allowed to do as it pleased the holocuast happened.

Pre-emptive Strike Talk in Japan

After the satalite launch in North Korea, Japan is once again talking about attacking first. I think they have the right idea, the world should put North Korea in its place before it gets big enough to do something drastic. The scariest part is that us on the west coast are going to be there first target, Hawaii is practically a sitting duck. This is just like what happened with Pearl Harbor, we just let them do whatever they want and then "BANG" we get blindsided, and slapped into next week. We need to beat them to the punch or Americans will be hurt.

North Korea's missle launch, success or failure?

Japan is the likely target of this short-range missile. Rodong is almost identical to Iran's Shahab-3 and Pakistan's Ghauri II (Hatf V), the strongest evidence of the countries' collaboration and of North Korean sale of technology and missile equipment to others. All three countries continue to refine the design. Estimated range of 620 to 930 miles (1,000 to 1,500 kilometers) and maximum payload of 2,200 pounds (1,000 kilograms). They are single-stage, liquid-fuel missiles on mobile launchers. Most have fairly poor accuracy, though some may have been fitted with warhead separation and more modern guidance systems.
