Cow Murders Man (Boss)

During the palestinian celebration of Eid al-Adha Gaza hea;th official said, "Muslims around the world slaughter sheep, cows and goats, during the four-day holiday that began Friday, giving away much of the meat to the poor. The Muslim holiday commemorates the sacrifice by the Prophet Ibrahim, known to Christians and Jews as Abraham." Accidents occur very often in the events of Eid al-Adha. during the fourth day of the celebration the cow was being preped for salughter and was spooked. A 52 year old was trampled and killed by the cow, and three other men were seriously ingured.

Palestine

This is a True crisis!

The Gaza Crisis

Posted Sunday, February 01, 2009.
The Israeli offensive on Hamas in the Gaza Strip on 27th December, 2008 ended on January 17, 2009 when both Hamas and Israel announced separate ceasefires, which have turned out to be quite fragile. The 3 week offensive claimed some 1,300 Palestinian lives, 400 of which were children. Another 5,000 were injured including some 1,800 children and 800 women. 13 Israelis were also killed. How did this crisis come about and what were some of the issues raised?

Sorry about this, It's been stuck in my head (Nightmare Before Christmas)

I'm very sorry about this it has been stuck in my head for about the last week and a half. I had to get this out of my system.

Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas' This is Halloween

Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see
This, our town of Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween

I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red

I am the one hiding under your stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!

In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

In this town, don't we love it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise

Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can
Something's waiting now to pounce, and how you'll...

Scream! This is Halloween
Red 'n' black, slimy green

Aren't you scared?

Well, that's just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take a chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night

Everybody scream, everybody scream

In our town of Halloween!

I am the clown with the tear-away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace

I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"
I am the wind blowing through your hair

I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween!

Tender lumplings everywhere
Life's no fun without a good scare

That's our job, but we're not mean
In our town of Halloween

In this town

Don't we love it now?
Everyone's waiting for the next surprise

Skeleton Jack might catch you in the back
And scream like a banshee
Make you jump out of your skin
This is Halloween, everybody scream
Wont' ya please make way for a very special guy

Our man jack is King of the Pumpkin patch
Everyone hail to the Pumpkin King now

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!

In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

Another Drug Rant about why Marijuana is illegal

Why is Marijuana Illegal? I asked this same question and so I Googled it. in the search I came across a very informative articular made by Pete Guither on DrugWarRant.com. In the articular Pete tells of how and why Marijuana is illegal. And surprising enough Marijuana is not illegal because of its dangerous nature, it has actually become illegal due to big businesses not liking it and making it illegal so that their profits will rise. Marijuana was not made illegal because of medical research just big businesses wanting more money. But I don't think the government will legalize it any time soon because now that it is illegal research is coming out with reasons to.

The Sweethart Drug

This drug is called Statin Drug known as the Sweetheart because of it being the best selling drug class out there. This drug is known to heal Cardiovascular Disease but it turned out to have negative affects raising cholesterol and not helping it go down like it is prescribed to do. People have been reported abusing this drug because of the way it affects you and your brain.
Everyone gets addicted to something if it is a good or bad thing. Do you or do you not agree?

My Mood

This is how I feel society feels like right now.

Drug use and its social effects.

Substance abuse has been linked to a great deal of social problems. abuse, violence, criminal actions, incarcerations, and birth defects are just a few examples of the problems caused. Family members of substance abusers are much more likely to abuse substances themselves. Up to a third of prison inmates reported being under the influence of a drug when they commited their crime.
Interestingly, substance abuse seems to increase the rates of spouse abuse, and spouse abuse seems to increase the rates of substance abuse.
Additionally, substance abuse has a variety of ways to draw people in. Peer pressure, Curiosity, Seeking to escape a current situation, etc.

Toilets and Water

"... none of us should tolerate a world in which over 1 million children are, in a perversely literal sense, dying for a glass of water and a toilet." Kevin Watkins, 2006
I know we are supposed to talking about the social impacts of intoxicants; however, we were talking about toilets in Econ and I ran across this. Why build schools when so many children need a potty and a glass of water? The builders of the Indus River Valley Civilization, perhaps the first, knew the value of water and sanitation. The Romans knew it. It took the people of western Europe in cities like London and Paris, a thousand years and a few plagues to figure it out. If an army marches on its stomach, then a population only lives with water. How happy were you this morning to stumble into the bathroom without much thought and take a hot shower? How can you help to give less privileged children the same basic human needs? For more information: Citation: "Worldmapper: The world as you've never seen it before." The effects of Bath Salts

The effects of bath salts are pretty intense. For one, the symptoms are very similar to meth and cocaine. The information on the entire effects of bath salts are on this website: http://www.burningtree.com/bath-salts-abuse/. In the emergency room they try to sedate a person who has overdosed on bath salts and they use the typical treatment of pshycosis, but when the sedation wears off they return to the state of phsycosis they were in before sedation. Then there is the special case where there is the craving of human flesh, just like a freaking zombie. The use of this drug can cause the user to commit violent acts, such as violent suicides, harming those around them, and there have been the severe cases of murder. How scary is that? No one should do this it is just terrifying. We do not want to turn into flesh eating monsters.... Let's not create the end of the world pretty please?

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse causes a lot of trouble and affects mostly everyone. In families were a parent or parents are substance abusers they tend to neglect their children.Teenagers who grow up in a house were someone uses substance abuse tend to them themselves be substance abusers. Substance abuse is one of the most preventable issues that we as a society are forced to face. Society is largely affected by substance abusers, resulting in injuries and death. “Most experts agree that addiction has a ripple effect. It brings discord not only into the home but to the society as well.” (Chy King)

Technology mixed with American history?

I think it's cool that a videogame would keep real history and not try to make it all unreal and stupid. It's annoying When people try to make a game about real life and then make it completly ridiculous.

American history unfolds in 'Assassin's Creed 3'

By Larry Frum, CNN | October 19, 2012
History, we are told, is immutable. What has happened cannot be changed and, when lessons are not heeded, is doomed to repeat itself. The entertainment industry, however, has been known to tamper with our historical memories, changing them to fit a story or to create an entirely alternate version of history. Developers at Ubisoft decided to leave real history alone but explore its gray, murky areas where creative license can still exist in their upcoming video game, "Assassin's Creed III. " (It's set for release October 30 in North America.)

Bathsalt Affect.

Basalt is dangerous. For two reasons; dosage, and sleep deprivation. This contains mephedrone and  methylenedioxypyrovalerone. Found in the middle east and in the east african countries. however, that since some varieties of bath salts are chemical grab bags containing any number of drugs, it’s certainly possible that hallucinogens are occasionally in the mix. But the addiction isn't the main problem. The predictable result is paranoia, panic attacks, mood swings and reckless behavior. As well as hypothermia kicks in causing you to heat up. When putting those together you get the 'dark hell' everyone says. With enough of the substance coursing through someone’s body, and several nights of not sleeping, could you end up with someone gnawing off another person’s face? Yes.. Could happen. Taking this drug isn't a good thing. Just 'cause it's llegal doesn't mean you should go ahead and try it.

Painkiller Abuse by Kids

Kids are abusing painkillers at a rate that is 40 percent higher than in older generations. It's now the second most common illegal drug used after marijuana. Some of the drugs being used now are vicodin, valium and oxycontin.Richard Miech, a professor of sociology at the University of Colorado, Denver has been studying it, according to his research there is a 129 percent increase in emergency department visits between 2004 and 2009. There are more than 500 percent increase in the number of people seeking treatment for addiction to prescription opioids between 1997 and 2007. There is a threefold increase in accidental overdose deaths between the 1990s and 2007. There are more accidental deaths due to overdose of painkillers than there are with cocaine now.

effects of substance abuse on society

Drug addiction is a public health problem that cost the U.S. $468 billion dollars in 2005.
50 to 80 percent of child abuse and neglect cases involve substance abuse by the children's parents.
Crimes related to drug abuse include stealing to obtain money needed to buy drugs, buying or selling drugs and offenses related to the lifestyle of drug abusers that result in illegal activities. Half of those arrested for serious crimes, including murder, robbery and assault, were under the influence of illegal drugs.
My question is do you  judge people who have a drug problem? Why? What do you think when you see a drug addict?

29 Year Old Killed by Drugs

On About.com there is an article that talks about how the 29 year old son of the Philidelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid died of a heroin overdose. He was found in his dorm room slumped in his chair, dead. He had a known drug addiction and had been in prison before.
I think this article is very sad to read because this kid could have had a great life, his dad was a coach for a famous team and Im sure he had the opportunity to do many amazing things, but he ended up spending part of his life in prison and dying at age thirty instead.

Why are people so terrified of Pittbulls?

I honestly do not understand why people are so afraid of these dogs, they have a bad name because of irrisponsible owners treating them badly and negatively and they end up being not very people friendly. It isn't the dog's fault, its the people who mistreated the poor animal. There is a group of people, heck they have their own show on animal planet. Pitt Bulls and Parolees. The owner and founder of this place, Tia Torres has the biggest heart in all the world she takes in unwanted and unloved dogs, and people. She was based out of Los Angles until the people around them deemed them unsafe. They have officially moved to New Orleans, and they have finally made a major impact.

I honestly do not understand why so many people can be so afraid of something so freaking cute? Well there is a stereotype that pitt bulls will bite your face off. Well I'm sorry but:

I absolutely love pitt bulls heck, I have one. He is honestly just a play crazy dog. They are honestly incredible dogs, and they are very loyal. No one should say that all pittbulls are dangerous. Not all of them are aggressive and mean. The only reason that a pittbull would be aggressive is because of how it's owner has treated them. Some people get pittbulls just to get them for fighting dogs. If the dog dies, they just throw the body away. I love pittbulls this issue should most definatelly be fixed. Pittbulls are amazing.

Central high schools lunch time

Right know I am very hungry and to bad for me lunch is over in central high school. doesn't it seem like lunch is to short? well the truth is lunch is very short, it is only 35 minutes long. Don't you think with every student in central high school getting let out for lunch all at the same time it would be a little heck-tic to get a descent lunch that will help us be full for long enough to finish school and have actually learnt something. Yes some kids do get a good lunch and learn stuff but not all students do and for all the ones that don't would most defiantly like at least the same opportunity as the other students. I am very concerned with this because I am one of these students I really like to go out and eat a descent lunch and not have to rush back to school and not finish my lunch and have my money go down the drain. so with this I say we bring attention to the school board and demand this be changed. we a  re central students, we work hard and we deserve a longer lunch!

Even within the darkest hour

I picked this picture because like it I chose to see the light that shines even with in the darkest hour, and to belive that even when everthing seems lost, just shine some light on it and it can be found.
How does this picture make you feel?
Wandering Above the Sea of Fog Caspar David Friedrich, 1818 This image was on the cover of one of the most influencing history books that I read in college, and it has made me think ever since. Who is this dude and where is he going? Is he traveling on the land or is he at the edge of the sea? How does he feel about his journey. Is it the beginning or the end of his journey, is he about to embark or is he looking back in reflection? Maybe he just got off of his horse at a scenic overlook to check things out. Is the theme of hope present in this image? Also, why are we in education so enamored by this image?

Artwork post

This art reminds me of the clash we all see every 4 years. The presidential election. It is characterised by 2 main vocal sides, with a quieter group in the middle. Nowadays we rarely see people voting for a president based on his ideals. Most votes are polarized by which candidate we relate the most to, even if we hold separate ideals. Studies have been done that show this. Groups of people were asked what they believed the government should be focusing on, and their answers (most of the time) did not match up with their preferred candidate.

More on the art, I feel it is relaxing and calming. What does this art make you feel? Does it make you think of any contemporary issues?

my mood

I feel like I'm the little flower and the gray is the world, it makes me feel like I need too do some more growing. That I'm bright, simple and positive around a bunch of negativity.

My Mood Expressed through Art

The artwork on display, entitled It’s Our World, expresses the students’ feelings and observations of the world around them and was developed as a group project. This painting describes me because I feel real busy now more then ever because my family and I are moving into a new house. This picture "sounds" like it would be real loud, and today I feel that I am really loud. This picture also makes me feel all over the place.

Question:
How/what does this make you feel?

Music in today's world

Music in today's world has changed in so many ways. It used to be about life and experiences  but today's youth have turned it in to voiceless songs like dubstep, or techno. They also make song about doing drugs or partying.

This picture represents my mood, which is a calm happy mood. The colors of the yellow and oranges and the girl playing the violin makes the picture look calm and a warm happy feeling. I like how they outlined her with color and not just draw her and outline her in black. It shows that this picture is for a calm with a enlightment mood. \

I feel very confused on what in going to do with life it'self this picture is showing to me that we are journeing into the unknown to learn more about our self. Moving on after high school is one of my main concerns right now and everyday I am more scared, confused, and worried about what I'm going to do, and what will come when it's my turn to venture the world. How does this picture make you feel? Do you feel the same as I do? Or does it make you express a feeling?

My Mood Today in Art (Dancing Cats)

These dancing Bengal cats reflect my mood today very well.  I am having a good week and I feel like dancing and having fun with my friends, like these partying cats are doing. It's also very colorful and that shows how happy I am today, and I played with my cat at lunch and so the cats remind me of that.

Question:
As technology is growing stronger within our society will we eventually depend on technology and be a robotic family?

Car Crashes Related to Texting

I read an article that showed the relationship between car crashes and texing while driving. A leading cause of car crashes is distracted drivers. Texting while driving has been proven to distract drivers. According to this article most people know that using technology while driving is distracting but they do it anyway. I think this article shows that having hand held electronic devices has increased driving distractions, and therefore has increased the death-rate in the world.

How electronics today are changing our lives

The electronics of the modern era are changing our social interactions with other human beings. Instead of going out to a social event we sit and read about it on facebook or twitter. We have suddenly changed from craving social interaction to now being almost socially incapable. We have officially changed to the point, if our phones are lost it is absolutely the end of the world. We now have laws against texting and driving because there has been so many accidents that have killed people because people were not paying attention to the road and all of the other people in the vehicle have been punished or harmed when the driver that has possibly killed half of the passengers for their stupid mistake.

The electronics of the day, has changed all generations. For instance, I walk around and I see ten year olds with Iphones and Ipods. The technology of today has made us as a whole very antisocial.

Great Smog of 1952

From 12/5/52 to 12/9/52 a smog smothered London. This smog wasn't the first, but it was certainly one of the worst. Some of the worst reports were of visibility dropping to mere inches. People were getting lost in their own neighborhoods and theaters were closing because the smog was seeping in and blocking the screen. The city of London came to a complete stand still. The smog was so thick with pollution that 4,000 were reported to have died while the smog was there, with another 8,000 that would die from lingering problems. The Great Smog of 1952 was so severe that it prompted the first anti pollution laws in recorded history. The use of these laws quickly spread afterwards, and raised awareness over the environment.

Smogs were not unusual in London, and there was no panic despite the unusual thickness of this particular smog. Do you think you could find your way around your neighborhood if a smog that thick rolled in?

Man Skydives From Edge of Space

Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner is now the first man to break the sound barrier. he jumped from a helium balloon at the edge of space (128,097 feet above earth.) If there had been the smallest  tear/crack in his suit his blood would literally have started boiling and he would have blown up. He reached a top speed of 833.9 miles per hour. This jump has broken the previous record of 102,800 which was set by Joe Kittinger in 1960.

Do you think this record will be broken again?

Rosa Parks

On December 1, 1951, Rosa Parks did something completely unexpected. She didn't give her bus seat up to a white working class man. She had sparked a revolution for the African Americans, at the same time of her arrest for breaking the Jim Crowe laws, there were boycotts of the Montgomery bus system. This event was a major catalyst of the black rights movement.

How important to the black rights movement do you think this was?

Feline Showboating

Have you ever seen a chunky cat with a western style mustache showboat? The definition of showboating is to show off. My sister's cat Pumpkin, who has a westren style mustache loves to showboat. How does she showboat? She flops on her back and pushes herself across surfaces with her back feet. She showboats everywhere like on tables, dressers, counters, and furniture. She even showboats by guitars and knocks them over then walks away like it wasn't her.

Girls Clothing Today VS. The 1950's

One important thing from the 1950's that is still here today is the power of teenage clothing. In the 1950's teenagers started trends of what to wear and started calling the shots for fashion ideas. Recall Grease the movie for example, in the begging of Grease Sandy is wearing the typical teenage girl attire for the 1950's, a dress to the ankles with bobby socks and saddle shoes. But, at the end of Grease she is wearing a skin tight leather shirt, skin tight leather jeans, a leather jacket and high heels that are way to high. Today most teenage girls wear skimpy clothing such as short and or tight dress, skirts, and shirts that show off things that need to be covered. No one wants to see the goods, keep them covered. What is your take on the way teenage girls wear their clothing today, and the way they disrepect their bodies?

2012 NHL lockout

Now, hockey season is just around the corner, so I thought I would shed some light on the reason why the new season is taking so long to catch some momentum. On September 15 of this year NHL declared that there would be a lockout, that delayed the new season by one month. This lockout has caused uproar between owners and patrons alike. Why this lockout, NHL has this peice of paper called the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that just expired last September. Now your asking yourself, what is a CBA, as you type it into Google, the CBA my children, is a labor agreement between the NHL owners and the NHLPA, which sets a minimum wage so to speak for each hockey player. So now you know that the NHL isn't just sipping down maple syrup and driving their Zambonies around town. But don't worry the next game is October 12 were the Devils are playing the Capitals. Why do you think the NHL had a CBA in the first place?

the cost of living in the 1950's

Back in the 1950's things were cheap. A ballpoint pen was 25 cents, gas was 18 cents a gallon. things were cheap and alot of people werent in poverty. Now days a ballpoint pen is like 5 dollars and gas is like $3.85 a gallon. Do you think now days prices for things like gas and other things are reasonable prices? why or why not?

LEGO in the 50's

For a little more then a half a century the company LEGO has made the funnest and the worst toy EVER! The company of LEGO didn't actually start as a plastic brick building company, or with the name LEGO. LEGO started as a small business that made tinker toys. it wasn't till 1953 when LEGO's got their trademark name LEGO, the finally got a plastic injector machine so they could make cheap and easy to make.

LEGO got its name from the Danish word "leg godt." which means "play well." it was given this name from the man who started it.

LEGO is one of my favorite toys and has single handed made me and a others afraid to walk around with out shoes. me and others will agree that Legos are the worst to step on.

Children watching pg13 and R movies

Now days children are exposed to a lot of inappropriate and violent things. When children watch a movie they are going to want to copy that movie and try whatever they saw in that movie, weather its a cartoon or a realistic violent movie. My question to you is, should children under the age of 13 be able to watch PG13 and R movies?

Jealous Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is supposedly becoming jealous over her sister Khloe's upcoming job as a host on X-Factor. Sources are saying that Kim is making a lot of snippy remarks to her sister about how " The job will be too stressful for you" and " I should be a co-host with you". Friends of the Kardashians say that Khloe wishes Kim would just be happy for her.

Why do you think Kim is acting jealous over Khloe's new job?

1950's today

In 1951, the first color television was introduced. CBS sent out the broadcast of the first commercial color television program. Sadly enough no one could watch it because of all of their black and white televisions.

This has an impact on today because if this wouldn't have happened, all of the shows we watch on a day to day basis would all be in black and white. We have to deal with the ocassional black and white television show on AMC, or when the shows you watch occasionaly deside to be dramatic and film in black and white. Other than that we have all color television. We see all of our shows in color, not black and white because of the integration of the color T.V.

We wouldn't be able to play video games on a black and white television and be able to appreciate all of the incredible graphics of the game. I'm pretty sure most of the people that play video games in this class would probably freak out if the color went out of in the middle of a game I honestly think that there would be a couple of sledge hammers stuck into T.V.'s on curbs in a couple of neighborhoods.  That is in my opinion why color television is important today. For gamers everywhere and for the people like me who enjoy the occasional paranormal movie or show.

Do you agree with me that Color T.V. has impacted our lives this much today?

Cold War Connection.

The cold war has brought us stockpiles of nuclear weapons. Alot of the military and science was going on during this time. Jet airplanes, computers and internet relates to day. Also, the inventions from the 1950's, 60's, and 70's are all related somehow to today. The Sovet Union and America were fighting for thier beliefs. That is how it all started.

What would you say has affected us today from the cold war?

Disneyland Opens 1955

Disneyland was opened in 1955. Walt Disney dreamed of opening a park where kids and adults could both have fun. He started the project in 1953. He had to find a place to build, and get funding for Disneyland. They finally chose Anaheim California to build on, and were financed in part by Walt Disney's personal funds and by ABC. Construction on the park began in 1954, and it cost 17 million dollars to build it all in one year. The park officially opened on July 17th, 1955. On opening day Walt Disney said "To all who come to this happy place - welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America... with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world. Thank you."
The opening of Disneyland connects to the world today because Disneyland is still a very popular fun place that people go. I got to go to Disneyland last year and I loved it. This is a good place that people can go to get away from everyday life.

Do you think Disneyland was a good idea and that Walt Disney's vision was fufilled?

First organ Transplant

Celebrating homecoming of the 1950s I would like to talk about the first human internal organ transplant. The first organ transplant was a kidney in 1954 by J. H. Harrison and Joesph Murray in Boston, Mass. but unfortunately the recipient died eight years later. Now what I want to ask you, is if you were the patient would you do this experimental surgery just so you can live eight more years?, and were do you think we would be without organ transplants?
