First successful kidney transplant performed 1954

The first organ transplant was a kidney transplant and it was taken places in 1954.  This transplant was preformed by Joeseph E. Murray in Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. This transplant was made possible by Richard and Ronald Herrick who were identical twins. Richard was dying of kidney disease the other twin Ronald donated one of his kidneys. His body did not reject the kidney. This transplant helped man learn more about the human body and now modern day surgeries.
What do you think about happen if this transplant went wrong?

  1. I think it would have been bad if this went wrong because the patient could have died.

  2. If there was a complication with the surgery i think organ transplants would be illegal and unethical by that eras generation, but just like stem cell research just give it time.
