The flagger who worked for Mama Jo's Flagging was run over by a dump truck while working at a construction site in Beaverton, OR. The driver of the dump truck who has had ten years experience was refered to drug and alcohol testing per protocal for the Oregon Safety and Health Administration . Nobody belives that drugs or alcohol played a part and that it was just a freak accident.

Ban Handguns?

The Supreme Court is taking up a challenge on Chicago's ban on handguns. The ruling could set off a vigorous campaign to control guns across thye nation. A ruling against the city's outright ban could lead to legal challenges to less-restrictive laws across the country that limit who can own guns.

john and kate plus eight, devided by john minus eight equals a waste of TV

for those of you following the John and Kate plus eight drama, this is for you, for the last few months Gossip magizines, TV shows, news shows and more, have been building on the tragic relationship issues that john and kate have been enduring, if its not bad enough that there marrage has failed, add in the fact that america cant keep there nose out of the story, how pitful could your life be that you would have to spend your spare time checking up on the "dirty laudry" of some other familly... thats not only weird its also kind of a waste of time. i dont know about you but it would be nice to go to roths one day and not see some headline like "baby sitter has affair with john" or "john leaves kate alone on anniversery". its simply rediculous yes maybe its entertaining for some people to read about someone elses drama, but what most of the "john and kate followers" fail to realize is that THEY ARE ACTUAL PEOPLE and the fact that they have a TV show doesnt make this devorce any different for them then it is for every other person in the world, theyre going through the same pain, anger, confusion and saddness as every other person who has had to deal with something like this, only amplified by the media. right when they start to get over this, they turn the corner theres anther tabloid about how kates a bad mom. has it ever accured to you that maybe they could have worked through this and saved there familly if the media would have stayed out of it and stopped fanning the flames. now kate is stuck alone raising the kids on the newly named show "kate plus eight" while john runs off and "finds him self" .

Kidnapping has Gotten Out of Hand in Mexico

"Once you are inside one of these unauthorized or "pirate" taxi cabs, anything can happen, because no one knows where you are or is held accountable for your whereabouts." While in Mexico it is important not to show how wealthy you are. Most likely if people know how wealthy you are the more likely you will be kidnapped. Some kidnappers work in groups. Learning the routine of a person.
If your a young child, or a person of wealth, or even a tourists you can be kidnapped. If your kidnapped for wealth they usually hold you for ransome.
This is a growing problem in Mexico. "Kidnapping Express" is one name for it.

Jack's Mannequin

JAck's Mannequin was the feature band on Tuned In. Also, there will be a documentary coming out called Dear Jack pretty soon, about Andrew McMahon's ( the lead singer/songwriter) sturggle with lukemia. He started Jack's Mannequin in 2004. He used to be in a band called Something Corporate, but they decided to take a break, and then he started writing really personal songs that didn't fit the sound for SoCo, and ended up going solo and making a new band. Apparently Andrew McMahon submitted songs for New Moon, but was sadly rejected. Personally, I like Something Corporate better, although JM is AMAZZING!!

The Truth?

The U.S., Britain, France, Germany, China, and Russia demand that Iran explain their intentions with the nuclear weapons. Iran tells them it is peaceful and energy-related only. The allies believe it is a stall tactic to listen to what Iran has to say.

This is the range that Iran could fire its missiles

Iran

China and Iran sign an oil field deal. China will invest 70% in the oil contract and Iran will invest 20% and japan will invest the other 10%.

Iran says inspection is okay.

Iran officials told U.N. experts that their second nuclear plant can be inspected. Iran's officials have also told the IAEA "There is no nulcear material on the site." Officials say that the U.S. has known about this site since the Bush administration. This site isn't planned to be operational for another 18 months. Shifting Powers?

The President of the World Bank, Robert B. Zoellick, held a meeting on Monday concerning the current economic crisis. He said that the public, and Congress think the letting the Feds be in control of finances is kind of sketch, and that the supervisory role should be given to the Treasury. He stated, ""It should not be a surprise that American democracy is hesitating about authorizing the Fed to supervise systemic banking risks as well as operate monetary policy, adding to its power." And went on explaining that the Federal Reserve has too much power, and that the people would be able to kind of see what's going on/keep the Treasury in check if they were in charge.

a not so innocent facebook survey

you wouldnt think that seemingly innocent social networking surveys wich usually contain questions like "who was the last person you kissed" or "whats your favorite pie" would be the center of a full on secret service investigation, but when the question threatening the president showed up on one, the secret survice acted.
"Should Obama be killed?" was a question that was asked in a Facebook survey on saturday, as soon as the officials found out about it, the survey was removed from the sight, but the secret service isnt taking this social networking scandal very lightly at all, and is investigating it to its fullest extent.

SUSPICIOUS OF IRAN

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8274839.stm
Suspicions are now raised since Iran launched the missle. There are now suspicions because Iran could be thinking about making a nuclear bomb at a secret plant. The IAEA thinks that Iran could possibly have something to hide if they kept this secretive.

Obama's New Missile Strategy

Obama said that we are going to take a different approach. By doing this it should better the threat of Iran's missile programme. Russia strongly opposes this decision. They feel that their rights are being taking because they aren't able to protect themselves if they have to stop missile buliding. "Is this the end of a special relationship between the US and Central and Eastern Europe?" said Tomas Pojar first.

Will the Colorado River be gone forever?

Many people believe that the Colorado River may dry up by 2050. This would greatly impact many people living in Arizona and Southern California because they use this water for drinking and irrigation. Large storage capacities of reservoirs might help control the amount of water used for a couple decades, but nothing is for certain. "On average, drying caused by climate change would increase the risk of fully depleting reservoir storage by nearly ten times more than the risk we expect from population pressures alone," said Balaji Rajagopalan of the University of Colorado. This coming year will be the Colorado River's 10th year of drought. There have been several other studies confirming the potential danger of water shortage in the river. This will be determined by the extent of the dry climate, water management, and conservation strategies.
