Boy who committed suicide at school left note, authorities say

The 15-year-old boy who committed suicide at Crescenta Valley High School last week left a note explaining his actions, authorities said Monday, though they declined to elaborate on its contents.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina told the Glendale News-Press that the note was found on sophomore Drew Ferraro’s body and was addressed to several family members and friends.
While declining to reveal the contents of the note, Corina did dispel rumors that Drew's suicide was prompted by bullying. “I know there has been a lot of speculation about bullying -- it had nothing to do with that,” Corina said.

This article has me asking questions. Why didn't the student that was being bullied try and getting help from a adult, his parents, teachers, or school counserlors? One reason he probably didn't try getting help might have been that he was afraid that if he told on the person/s bullying him they might have punished him. Another question I had was why didn't the school or authorites try and figure out who was the person/s bullying this young man. I believe that no matter how serious something can be you should always ask for help taking your own life isn't worth it.

My prayers goes to the Ferraro family.

  1. This is sad. Someone should have done something. The school should have atleast made an effort to tell people about how serious and hurtful bullying can be.

  5. So was this about bullying or not? It clearly states it wasn't so is everyone else just not reading these articles? If it wasn't about bullying why is int the article publishing what Drew's note said? Why speculate? He left a note has no one read it? He was 15 what could have possibly made his life so miserable to even concider suicide? Maybe this was family problem just because he committed suicide at school doesn't exactly mean a direct corrilation. Weird.

  6. No matter what the situation is, taking your life isn't the way to go. There are always other options no matter how hard they may seem at the time. It's so sad to hear about these stories.
