Republicans Seek To Cut AmeriCorps Budget

Republicans are trying to lower the current American deficit by cutting the budget of AmeriCorps programs by ending sixty current Programs in the U.S. To give you insight on how that would affect our nation, i will give a little insight on some of the things AmeriCorps programs have done to better our Country. Back in 2005 when Hurricane e Katrina hit, thousands of volunteers all under the age of 30 volunteered for an entire year rebuilding the houses, bringing together community, volunteering in classrooms, giving help that no one else was there to give. these people are volunteering their time to set an example for our nation and do their best to make it a better place. are people aware of all the youth after school programs that will disappear with the disappearance of AmeriCorps. And what will that lead to? what are we supposed to tell our youth who rely on these programs for a place to go after school. if you cut the funding to AmeriCorps, then you are cutting the chances that our future has to succeed. Sign the pledge http://www.change.org/petitions/save-AmeriCorps and save the future of our country.
