Maersk Alabama repels pirates

Today the Maersk Alabama repelled a group of Somalian pirates from boarding their ship with small arms fire and a long range high-decibel noise device. But now the shipping company is coming under attack from the international maritime community for having armed personnel aboard the ship. Do you think that shipping vessels should be alowed to have armed gaurds on board in high risk areas?

  1. Yes, they need to protect themselves from the pirate attacks otherwise they will just lose money from all the stolen goods and they don't want that either.
