Apparently the cookie monster is not the veggie monster, cookies are only a sometime snack but they are not going to change it in fear of controversey and he is going to stay the cookie monster
there destroying our childhood!!!! i cant belive they would go to the extent of changing a 40 year old childhood icon to a new aged mamby pamby brain washing device! i mean serioulsy. do they really think that by changing that small detail theyll stop the childhood obesity rate... ummmmm news flash as long as parents are stuffing there kids with happy meals were still gonna have fat kids. they have just gone too far with this. but i guess it makes them sleep better at night.
Indeed! I agree with Nicole and McKinzi. The cookie monster should remain the cookie monster. All though they have made him eat vegetables he will ALWAYS be the cookie monster! (And I don't agree with him having to eat veggies!)
Haha. I totally agree with Jessica. It all depends on the choices of the parents, whether to feed them cookies or even let them watch the show. They just dont want the blame so they stick it on something else to make them feel better.
I agree with most of you. I don't believe changing the cookie monster to the veggie monster was a good idea. Do people honestly think that that will help children eat more vegetables. Probably not...
What is up with this? Oscar doesnt live in the trash (its not sanitary) Bert and Erny cant live together or takes baths together because it seems gay. Oh and the kicker, Its not even called sesame street, its called 123 play with me Sesame because its not safe to play on the street. WTF
For 40 years cookie monster has been eating cookies. Why should we change now because some parents think that cookie monster is to blame. Cookie monster isn't force feeding kids, it's the parents that provide the food.
Lies. LIES!!! If he's still the same Cookie Monster...than why is he green?
And it's really stupid for parents to expect their children to be raised by a television set. It is their responsibility to feed their children healthy food as well as set a good example for them. It is not the world's responsiblity to raise your kids!
Also, it is not fair to shelter your kids from reality.Instead they should be taught what to do in such cases. For example, what are your kids gonna do when their friends offer them cookies at school? Are they gonna say, "I want to be like the veggie monster, he is my role model." Probably not, the same way kids wouldn't go, "I want to be just like that funny blue creature from Seseme Street so I'm gonna eat as much cookies as I can."
I agree with Graham. If they are changing cookie monster because he's not setting a good example. Why not change all of them? Create a whole new set so they will "make" kids do the right things according to society.
Cookie monster is still cookie monster. They just changed his diet so kids won't just eat cookies. But why ruin a childhood memory with vegetables?
ReplyDeleteGood. The Cookie Monster is a classic. Changing him fully would only start a lot of controversy.
ReplyDeletec is for cookie not for carrot or any other vegetable that starts with c

Even so. Ronald McDonald doesn't make the kids fat. I still blame the parents. It's their kids. Their money. Their choice.

ReplyDeleteWAIT WHAAAAT!!!
ReplyDeleteSince when is the cookie monster GREEN?
You know I don't like the fact that they would change cookie monster to green, but I don't know it's just not right.
