Two federal US marshalswere shot in the lobby of the Las Vegas courthouse at 8 in the morning on Monday, January 4, 2010. A young man who had heard the shots saw one of the marshals get shot and the other marshal ran over to cover him, but he ended up getting shot himself. The court security officer was shot and died and the US Marshal was wounded and was then shot in the head and killed outside the courthouse.
