The Eleftherotypia newspaper alerted police today after receiving a call saying a bomb was placed in an open area outside Greece's parliament building. Streets surrounding the parliament were closed off by officials. Later, an explosive device detonated inside of an installation for garbage disposal. There were no casualties. Someone also called the police reporting that one bomb was placed outside of the parliament and another inside The Hotel Grande Bretagne near parliament. Law enforcement officers carefully searched the area but police don't think the reports were credible.
