Israel is building a barrier on the border of Egypt to stop people from illegally crossing over.
The Prime Minister of Israel quoted last Sunday,
"This is a strategic decision to ensure the Jewish and democratic character of the state of Israel."
100-200 people cross the border weekly.
90% of those crossing the border illegally are from Africa instead of Egypt.
Construction is expected to take several years and cost a billion shekels.
A start date has not yet been set.
