Many people in the US believe that Iran lacks the right equipment to create a nuclear weapon. Even though the US doesn't know if Iran intends to create a nuclear weapon, they are still keeping minimal surveillance on the country. Many western countries, including the US, believe that Iran is planning to secretly make nuclear weapons. Iran still claims that their plan is only for peaceful purposes, but its continued uranium enrichment activities have many Western countries suspicious.
