Australia may withdraw its troops in Afghanistan early as recommended by the Defence Minister John Faulkner. The BBC's Nick Bryant in Sydney says the troop withdrawal could still be years away. They also say they will not send additional troops.

If they are going to take troops out they need to decide sooner then later, if they want to save lives.
