Gang's and Prevention.

Gangs of all levels and types usually have a negative effect on society. Higher-level gangs that are investigated by the FBI sometimes force the agency to utilize very risky and very expensive resources like high-tech surveillance, and witness protection programs. Gangs also can bring down the property value of neighborhoods from the violence and vandalism involved with gang life. They can also force prices to go up, in exchange to think it's 'protection'.
Prevention: Teenage gang prevention often involves early intervention by special at-risk programs that offer mentorship and activities to do after school. If they keep themselves busy with activities and thing's to do after school, it's better then involving themselves in a gang and taking a risk to get killed. For older gangs that are more organized or commit more violent crimes, prevention usually involves getting the community to protect itself. They also need to not create enviorments where it would make gangs easy for them to take things.

What do you think about all of this? Do you think were doing a good job preventing it?
