Sticking pokey objects into your skin doesn't sound appealing to me personally but to others its relaxing and can actually help a individual with medical conditions. Acupuncture works by inserting small needles into your skin, the needles are about the size of a single strand of hair. They're ment to stimulate the bodies nervous system to release certain chemicals that create hormones to help pain and other medical complaints.
Pros of acupuncture are:
- An acupuncture treatment can provide a releif from pain, nausea, or other symptoms
- An acupuncture treatment in most cases does not have side effects
- It's said you may feel relaxed after an acupuncture treatment
Cons of acupuncture are:
- Sometimes the symptoms that brought you to the acupuncturist may get worse for a few days before they start to get better
- You may feel sleepy after a treatment
- The treatment may cause temporary changes in your appetite, sleep, bowel, or urination habits
- As with any medical treatment, not everyone will have improvement in their symptoms after acupuncture

This just looks like it hurts and I would not want to take part in this. However it is interesting what people gain from something like this.
