President Obama and President Chavez shook hands at the Summit of the Americas meeting in Trinidad and Tobago. After the Venezuelan president described Obama as "ignorant" on March 23rd, he states that "I want to be your friend."
The changing policy towards Cuba has has contributed to the "thawing effect." What difference a few weeks can make!

ReplyDeletePresident Barack Obama was not offended by Chavez's words of saying he was ignorant. President Obama said "Chavez is not a threat to the United States."
ReplyDeleteMy Personal opinion, I think it was good that the two presidents are now friends. Even though Chavez's words were not to effective, it is good that it did not really bother president Obama.
