Climate Change...

As we all know the Ice caps melt some every year and then refreeze. What If I told you that the amount of ice that is melting isn't refreezing to make more ice. We are loosing ice at the north and south Poles. We also all know that ice is fresh water... and dumping millions of gallons of fresh water into the oceans could upset the natural currents of the oceans. This ladies and gentlemen is what we call climate change. Oh so you don't believe in climate change do you? well look at the pictures of the poles and see the poler bears struggling to get on a floating ice burg to take a rest. You look at pictures of hurricane Katrina or of tornado's that are appearing in areas that are not located in tornado ally...or the many droughts that scorch areas that have never had droughts before...these are all huge clues that are earth is changed...oh but climate change has all happened in the past you say? well there weren't humans in the past to progress and excellerates climate change.
So are we to just sit here twiddling are thumbs and do nothing? just ignore that climate change exist? That's a terrible mistake...If you want all the ice to be gone and all the species that live at the poles to be gone then fine go ahead just sit there and pretend...but just so you know that when all the ice is gone that's gonna effect YOU as well.

Terrorist attacks force Indian government to recognize religious tensions

Three month's ago, ten armed terrorists attacked Mumbai, killing 170 people. The government blames Muslim radicals. In reality these terrorist were both Hindi and Muslim. This attack is forcing India to recognize institution of muslim persecution. They are unwilling to recognize that Indian Muslims receive harsher charges when accused of a crime from their Hindu counterparts. The government finally admits that hindu's helped commit the terrorist attacks, but equality is very far away.

Mexico's drug war

Vill Ahumda, Mexico

A convoy of gunmen had invaded the ranch where Jorge Marrufo, 32, was working. He was among 21 people killed on Feb. 10 in this town near the U.S. border after drug gangs abducted several men, Then had a massive gun battle with the Mexican army. The fighting that goes on by the U.S.-Mexico border is so bad that the US State Department issued a new travel advisory warning tourists about the increasing violence in the area.

How many more innocent lives do the gangs have to take in order to get there drugs? the answer is none! these killings are wrong and they have to be put to a stop. Otherwise the violence will only get worce and spread to areas inside the US such as Texas or Arizona where the population will be at stake.

Rod Blagojevich

Rod Blagojevich was removed from office on January 29th, 2009 for attempting to sell President Barack Obama's vacant senator seat and various other political controversies.

Blagojevich was arrested on December 9th, 2009 for federal corruption. He was soliciting bribery as well as mail and wire fraud. He was attempting to sell President Barack Obama's seat in the Illinois state senate. After further investigating they were made aware of many other conspiracies that Blagojevich was involved in. The state house voted 114 to 1 to impeach Blagojevich on December 9, 2008. All 59 state senators found Blagojevich guilty and voted unanimously to remove him from office. Eventually they voted again, resulting in Blagojevich never being able to hold public office again.

An invisible war?

Congo is a dangerous place to live in, with over 30,000 deaths per month according to some news sources. Many people wonder why with so much death, many people arent really aware of the situation Congo is in or why nobody is really doing anything. Many times news deal with less important stuff, such as the moviesor Dolly Parton telling us to back off of Jessica Simpson, you can see its all true, its their in this photo from CNN's latest news. People need to become more aware of this conflict. There is people dying from diseases, starvation, war, the ones that are still alive are forced to join the army or leave the country as refugees probably really traumatized from what they have seen.

Price changes

Gas prices have been rising to extreme levels. But the question that always pops up when people see the board for price per gallion is why. The answer is oil refining. Cruel oil is actually quite cheap ( $35 a barrel) but the price for refining it is quite expensive. Refining oil is 50% of the actual price for gas, this is due to our relationship towards our biggest gas providers Iraq and Iran. I know I don't have to talk about our relationship with them.

Now since gas is rising so much why not just switch to diesel fuel? Well the trick to that is everyone is seeing this. Diesel has better milage than regular gas but because everyone is switching to it the price has also risen.

We need our cars but what can we do about the price that follows it?

48 CHILDREN RECOVERED IN A HUMAN TRAFFICKING OPPERATION

THE FBI GOT TOGETHER WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ON A 3-DAY NATIONAL ENFORCEMENT ACTION...THEY HAD GONE TO 29 CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THAT LED THEM TO RECOVER 48 YOUNG CHILDREN..AND 571 CRIMINALS WERE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH A COMBINATION OF STATE AND FEDERAL CHARGES FOR DOMESTIC TRAFFICKING OF CHILDREN FOR PROSTITUTION AND SOLICITATION..

HERES A REALLY GOOD QUOTE THAT DIRECTOR ROBERT S. MUELLER III FROM THE FBI HAD SAID " “We may not be able to return their innocence but we can remove them from this cycle of abuse and violence.” I THINK THATS SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY CARES...I THINK THAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS A BIG PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY, WELL ACTUALLY THIS WORLD..ALTHOUGH I REALLY DON'T THINK ITS GETS ADDRESSED AS WELL AS I THINK IT SHOULD..

Salmonella Outbreak

Since the outbreak of salmonella in peanut products at the plant in Georgia; 604 people have gotten sick, 187 have been sent to the hospital, and eight people have been killed. So is peanut butter safe to eat now? Well, thousands of peanut products have been pulled off store shelves since mid-January, but the FDA doesn't have the right to recall the plants contaminated products without their permission. I think it is ridiculous that there is almost nothing that can be done to stop companies from shipping contaminated food. I think it is something that needs to change in the system. A federal criminal investigation into the outbreak is soon to be faced by the Peanut Corporation of America, FDA announced in January. So I suggest that for now, you don't eat the peanut products.

Why Are U.S. Troops Still in Iraq?

Nechirvan Barzani, who is the prime minister of the Kurdish regional government said, "Obama has said more than once that they will withdraw (American troops) in a responsible manner from Iraq." These responsibilities include resolving issues between Bagdad and the Kurdish region in Northern Iraq.

Article 140, which is part of Iraq's new constitution, says that some territorial disputes need to be settled. Some of these disputes go back to the time when Saddam Hussein kicked Kurds out of Kirkuk and resettled the region with Arabs under Arabisation policies.

Kirkuk is a province that consists of about 900,000 people. Some of these people are Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, and Christians. It is a very ethnically mixed place. The Kurds want it attached to their autonomous region.

There are also some conflicts regarding oil contracts and a few other issues.

Under a security pact that was signed by Baghdad and Washington in November of 2008, US troops are to withdraw from Iraq by the end of 2011.

VENEZUELA LOOKIN GOOD:)

"Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez has taken over from Fidel Castro the mantle of Latin America's leading opponent of the United States, which remains the largest customer for Venezuela's oil.
Mr. Chavez, a former colonel first elected in 1998 on a populist platform, has carried out a series of steps that he says are reshaping his country's economy to match his vision of "21st century socialism." He has sought to counter American influence in the region, seizing control of the oil assets of American and European energy companies, and in other ways consolidating state control over the economy and nationalizing telephone and electricity companies. He proclaimed a "Bolivarian revolution," named for the hero of Latin American independence, and proclaimed the United States to be a threat, in part because of its indirect support for a coup that briefly ousted him in 2002. Yet despite the increasingly heated rhetoric - Mr. Chavez proclaimed President Bush to be "the devil" in an address to the United Nations - the business ties between the two countries remained strong through his first term. After Mr. Chavez's reelection in 2006, he took a harder line toward foreign ownership, and direct foreign investment in Venezuela plunged by $543 million that year. Venezuela's economy was buoyed by historically high oil prices and its $25 billion in reserves, but a budget deficit began to widen as growth slowed.
While Mr. Chavez is popular with a majority of voters, Venezuelan society remains deeply polarized. His supporters credit him with channeling oil revenues to the poor through an array of social welfare programs. Critics, however, say his government is adopting measures that limit freedom of expression and lacks transparency in dealing with private industry. Alliances with leftist governments in Latin America, like Cuba and Bolivia, and outside the region with Iran and Belarus point to continuing political tension with the United States. "(May 17, 2007)

WELL MR. CHAVEZ HAS CHANGED VENEZUELA FOR THE BETTER..IT SEEMS LIKE HE'S GOT GOOD IDEAS..AND HES GON REALLY TAKE VENEZUELA REAL FAR..SHOOT I THINK THATS WHAT THERE BASICALLY TALKING ABOUT..I GUESS THERE PRETTY BIG OIL SUPPLYERS TOO..WELL THERE DOIN GOOD I GUESS..OVERALL HES A BIG HELP TO THEM AND IT SEEM LIKE HE REALLY CARE..

French President meets with Union Leaders to Discuss Economic Crisis

On Wednesday, February 18th, French President Nicolas Sarkozy met with union leaders to discuss the economic crisis in France. The party of people that met with the President included 5 of the leaders from the largest employee unions and three of the organizations that represent France's employers. The purpose of Wednesday's meeting was to address the concerns and dissatisfaction of the French public. Some of the concerns included growing unemployment, wages increases, social welfare measures and sustained investment. There was a poll conducted before the meeting and it concluded that '60% of the population has a negative perception of their governments in response to the economic crisis.'

Sarzoky states that it is very important to create better unemployment benefits, especially for the younger citizens. He was expected to offer some ideas about consumer boosting policies. These include increased aid to part-time workers and tax-breaks to France's lowest income earners.

After month-long strike on the French island or Guadaloupe the people of France realize that the President must do something. The strikes have evolved into a mess of gunfire, barricades, looting and arson. Sarzoky is willing to comprimise, which does not happen often, because he does not wish for these strikes to heighten any further than they have. The meeting on Wednesday could be just what the country needs to calm the protests and become a more stable economy.

Ebola-Reston found in Pigs

Blood samples have been flown to the U.S from swines and farmhands. They have been sent to the centers for disease control (CDC). They are testing for the Ebola-Reston virus. The samples were collected from two pig farms where the virus had been detected. Ebola-Reston is a virus only found in the Phillipines and is confined to monkeys and this is the first time it has jumped species and showed up in pigs. Nearly 6,000 pigs have been tested postitive for the Ebola-Reston virus since December at the farms of Pandi and Talavera town outside of Manila. Ebola-Reston has not been found to be harmful to humans but this may have an extreme impact on the pigs.
Dr. Lyndon Leesuy, a member of the Phillipine team who is involved in this investigation noted that "sending those blood samples was not a sign that they were positive. That sending the blood samples was only for confirmation and anaylsis since they do not have such labratories in the phillipines to conduct such tests."

Sri Lanka

There is not much happening in Sri Lanka the only important event that is happening right now are the provincial elections between Socialist Equality Party (SEP) and some other small parties. The election will take place in one of the poorest places in Sri Lanka in Puttalam. Tom Cruise Americanizes German Hero

In the Film "Valkyrie" Mr. Tom Cruise is started as the german hero Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, who attempted and failed to assasinate Adolf Hitler. Although his skills in acting is great. Most of the local people from germany are complaining about their german hero turning more into an american hero. Stauffenberg was a german hero for his honor to his nation, not to his leader. Due to his weak german accent German Viewers have complained that Cruise didn't portray the real Stauffenberg as he really is. "Our kids will confuse fact from film." said a concerned parent. "We want to keep our history the same, not make them into action heros." Though I don't know much about german culture, I believe Cruise did a good job in the film.

Brazil

On February 7th, a plane crashed in Brazil's Amazon Basin, causing the deaths of 24 people. There were only four people that made it out alive, due to sitting in the back where the emergency exit was. The plane tried to make an emergency landing in the Panamacapuru Airport, but instead landed in the Manacapuru River. Investigators are not sure what caused the crash, but some say that it was due to engine failure. They were able to recover the planes cockpit recorder, so they will try to analyze that to see if they can come up with any new information.

Paris Fashion Week 2009

Despite the economic crisis in France, Fashion Week in Paris was more glamorous, extravagent, and creative as ever. The Parisians put aside their financial worries to put on this wild and sensational event. There were so many presentations that it would be impossible to cover them all to a sufficent degree that they deserve. However there was one designer that stood out amoung the rest. Marc Jacobs made his collections 'layered and personal'. There was in asian influence in most of his flirt metallic skirts and large obi belts. His entire collection reflected a 'universal theme' by presenting leopard print bags and that talk of the night, a black and silver backless minidress. He tells the models that are in line that they need to "remember, this is a city where even the meter readers wear high heels.” He talks to his friends while waiting for the show to begin that he loves Paris, and always tries to make the best collections for shows in Paris.

Many people say that the economic crisis has inspired designers to craft the most creative pieces to date. The show was beyond a success and many left the show in awe and admiration.
